Fritillaria camschatcensis

Fritillaria camschatcensis occurs in both North America (from Alaska down the coast to Oregon) and also Asia (Japan). Also know as Kamchatka Fritillary or Kamchatka Lily. ALthough very attractive, this is difficult species and not widely found in cultivation.

A relatively tall growing species to 2ft with flowers ranging from brown flecked to deep red and almost black in spring. Full sun to partial shade in a moist but well drained soil. Fritillaria camschatcensis also do well in containers.
