Fritillaria liliacea (fragrant fritillary) another native from the coastal grasslands of California.
Said to be fragrant, and we think it is slightly on a warn sunny day, Fritillaria liliacea is a small growing frit with dainty nodding star shaped open flowers.
Fritillaria liliacea is a little late flowering for us and as such seems to like a little protection from the hot afternoon sun. Reaching a height of around 5 inches (12cm) this is a plant that can get a little 'lost', we grow ours in containers.
Fritillaria liliacea are fairly easy to grow in a well drained soil. Zone 6-9.
