Lilium formosanum or 'Taiwan lily' is a 6 - 10ft tall elegant summer flowering lightly scented with a white trumpet shaped flowers.
Lilium formosanum are a white flower with a pale green - yellow throat. Used widely for cut flowers. Lilium formosanum does well in Zones 5-9. A humus rich well drained moist soil is best.
This is one species that self seeds easily, although it will take two or three years to actually flower from seed it also divides in the ground. So in the right conditions it can spread into forested areas and become a weed. seeds are papery and light and so are easily dispersed by the wind
In urban areas this is not such a big problem, and with its easy nature Lilium formosanum or 'Taiwan lily' does make an attractive garden plant.
