Chamaedorea microspadix (Hardy Bamboo Palm)

A cold tolerant clumping palm Chamaedorea microspadix is a fast growing tree that will grow well indoors or in a shaded position in the garden. It is used widely as an indoor plant. In full sun these attractive palm trees tend to go yellow very quickly and will struggle.

In a shaded position they are easy and fast growing. Once established they are reasonably drought tolerant. The flowers are not really a feature, a yellor color, followed by red fruits from which the seed can be collected for propagation.

A sucking or clump forming palm, Chamaedorea microspadix is originally from Mexico where it grows in the forests of the higher regions.

Chamaedorea microspadix will reach 8ft. Zones 8 - 11
