Ornithogalum are a group of bulbous plants originally from South Africa and related to hyacinths. Ornithogalum dubium is usually an orange flowering species while Ornithogalum umbellatum is a smaller growing species sometimes called Star of Bethlehem Grass.

Ornithogalum caudatum, or False Sea Onion does not have the most interesting flower however the bulb that grows above the ground is interesting. Ornithogalum arabicum is known as the Black Pearl Lily or Arabs Eyes, white flowers with dark centres.
