A sprawling clump forming perennial that will reach around 1ft this phlox is widely found in the Eastern States of the USA.
Growing well in part shade in moist conditions it is covered in rose / blue fragrant flowers in early spring. The flowers are attractive to bees, butterflies and humming birds.
Naturally found in moist soils Phlox divaricata will disappear in periods of drought and regenerate with adequate moisture.
Suited to use in a woodland situation of a rock garden. You could also try growing this one in a container and letting it hang down over the edges.
