Growing Conditions
Sanguinaria canadensis or 'Bloodroot' are a woodland plant and require a shaded to part shaded position. A moist humus rich but well drained soil is best.
Distribution is widespread throughout the eastern states of the USA
Propagation
Sanguinaria canadensis or 'Bloodroot' can be grown from seed or from rhizome divisions when dormant (late summer - autumn).
We recommend you try dividing Sanguinaria canadensis every two to three years, make sure you discard any diseased or 'unhealthy looking' sections, this seems to keep them happy. |
