Thuja plicata Atrovirens (western red cedar) is an evergreen conifer used widely as a hedging plant or as a specimen tree. Also known as the western red cedar, Thuja plicata Atrovirens is native to the United states ranging from Alaska to California.

Most commonly used as a hedging plant Thuja plicata Atrovirens forms a dense hedge with very strong buttressed trunks. A tall hedge to nealy 20ft with attractive green glossy foliage.

Thuja plicata Atrovirens has a natural pyramidical habit however as it is often pruned to a formal hedge this is not always noticed.
