As a hedge it is best planted around 2ft apart. It is excellent up to around 6 - 8 ft. Prune in spring. Young growth rate is good at 2 ft a year, again depending on conditions. The fine foliage make it great hedge and easy to prune.

As a feature tree it may take 20 years to get to 20 ft, however over time these majestic trees can get to 100ft in good conditions.
